I definitely speaks to me in a way that I tried very hard to explain but still don't know if I did it justice.

Nola v. Vegas:
Never been to Vegas, but have no real interest in going. So, maybe you're right. Interesting that I pitted the two cities against each other in comparison. So maybe they are alternate poles?Wandering Artisthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14108088839669953948noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7107560344286315999.post-20989556017918827352009-10-16T15:30:46.158-07:002009-10-16T15:30:46.158-07:00I don't go to New Orleans every year, but almo...I don't go to New Orleans every year, but almost. And I have no idea why I like it so much. Inasmuch as I don't stay up past midnight and I barely drink anymore. I think maybe it is my alternate universe.

I have a theory. Either you love Vegas or you love New Orleans. You might hate both, but you don't love both. In testing this theory with every person I know I have only found one that disagreed.

ABAnnehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03677531813477510041noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7107560344286315999.post-56385089989032721032009-10-16T09:00:37.373-07:002009-10-16T09:00:37.373-07:00So I've been told they filmed the gazebo danci...So I've been told they filmed the gazebo dancing scene, from "Benjamin Button," in that park.
Next time I go I'm getting out of the trolley to stroll through the park. Perhaps in the summer I'll be out in Boston again. I can't go more than I year I think. Surely you won't make me wait that long before telling me of your hookah stories?Wandering Artisthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14108088839669953948noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7107560344286315999.post-24671200740597737122009-10-16T07:41:37.599-07:002009-10-16T07:41:37.599-07:00Yes, a good rule for much of life is "bring a...Yes, a good rule for much of life is "bring a change of shoes, preferably very comfortable and functional ones." Flip-flops certainly qualify.

Great walking shoes will take you far, especially in the large park on the St. Charles Trolley line. I recall having sore feet from walking New Orleans in "business casual" shoes and clothes the first day I visited for a conference. It was April before Katrina hit that August, and the city was humid and sticky already, but walking everywhere was inevitable since I had no car. Walking was only a joy once I got the right shoes under foot!

Three days later, the conference ended and Matthew joined me to explore the lovely lady, NoLA. We wandered till late most nights, delighted in all of it and will swap stories with you of hookah bars, jazz clubs, and daquiri slurpees...soon, when might you visit us again?Sunnyhttp://sunnydayfitness.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7107560344286315999.post-81874128503036533142009-10-15T20:37:16.830-07:002009-10-15T20:37:16.830-07:00Thanks Jeremy!
